This was our third year attending the Asian Lantern Festival and every year, I’m more impressed by the gorgeous displays and interactive elements.
My personal favorite this year were the cherry blossom trees, which reminded me of walking along the Tidal Basin in springtime when I lived in Washington, DC.
Jeffrey loved that admission to the special Dinosaurs Around the World exhibit is also included with your Asian Lantern Festival ticket.
We also got to see some of our favorite zoo critters, like the tigers, elephants, and bears.
The Cleveland Metroparks Zoo is taking steps to keep visitors safe, including requiring face coverings, limiting attendance, one-way directional flow, and hand-washing stations throughout the Zoo.
We went before dark, but the event did not feel overly crowded and we were able to socially distance and enjoy the entire experience.
The Asian Lantern Festival happens every Wednesday through Sunday evening through Sunday, August 23. You can purchase tickets online.
The Cleveland Metroparks Zoo is also open for regular visits. These tickets are also limited to allow for proper social distancing and advance reservations are highly encouraged. You can purchase regular Zoo tickets online as well.
It’s so nice to be able to get back to some of our favorite, authentic Cleveland spots in a safe way this summer!
